Slow leaks do the most damage and get found last

A hose that bursts makes a mess and gets dealt with the same day. A supply connection that weeps a small amount continuously does far more damage, because it runs for weeks or months into a cabinet base and a subfloor with nobody looking.

By the time it becomes visible — usually as swelling flooring or a soft cabinet bottom — the subfloor beneath the appliance is frequently saturated and mould is established underneath.
